Much like my other chart, I am starting this years first dance chart with a fresh approach. Any song that was popular on my charts last year will begin this year as if they have not been on the charts before.

Additionally, I am going to put more of a personal touch on my dance charts and not only chart the song in general, but include which remix I feel is the best one. That information will be retained as the song moves around on the charts.

Prediction: Look for Lady GaGa, Mariah Carey, LeAnn Rimes and Shontelle to fight it out for the #1 spot in February. Or will the spot go to the unstoppable Beyonce?

I thought that I would start the charts fresh this year. So, any song that was on my charts from last year basically starts off "new" this year, as if being charted for the first time.

That being said, here is the list for my Top 40 songs of the month, from best to worst. To remind you of how I chart the songs... I base them upon music charts and requests when I DJ. Let me know what you think!

Prediction: Look for Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" to take the top spot as she jumped a record breaking 96 spots to reach #1 in the first week of February's Billboard Top 100. If she slips badly on the weekly charts this month, Lady GaGa could hold onto the #1 spot or be dethroned by Kanye, Beyonce, or Taylor Swift. Given the unfortunate drama surrounding Rihanna, it looks like her song with T.I. will possibly slip out of the Top 10.
